Lu-Mi Strings makes fine handmade baroque and modern string instruments — each one shaped by hand, crafted in Beijing, and voiced with the care of a tradition centuries in the making. Rooted in the finest European lutherie traditions, every instrument is built to the highest standards of craftsmanship from exceptionally well-seasoned, carefully selected tonewoods, allowing each piece to sing with clarity, depth, and character.
Founded in 2002 by Finnish viol and cello player Markku Luolajan-Mikkola, Lu-Mi Strings brings a musician’s ear and a historical sensibility to every instrument, uniting authenticity, playability, and beauty in sound and form.
