Stainer violins used to be as highly or even higher evaluated as the violins by Ceremonies luthiers. However it doesn’t necessarily play so well as a modern violin. The high arching of Stainer gives a lot of overtones and such it is ideal for baroque music.

After Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù, 1742
A bold, fiery character with exceptional carrying power — modelled on the late Cremonese master whose instruments became synonymous with expressive intensity. Its resonant depth and responsive attack suit both baroque solo works and chamber repertoire demanding presence and colour.
